does anyone out there think ibs can cause weight loss??
rx's say know-but when i asked a logical question like, if ibs is increased transit time--thus pushing food through your system rather quickly how could this not cause weight loss in the long run??
the rx looked at me if as if i just asked him atricky physics question

Yes, I also lost about 12 lbs or so when my IBS started. Part of it was the rapid digestion and another part that the symptoms can really kind of make you lose your appetite. :P

I lost 10 lbs with ibs. Anyone I know who has had a serious bout with it always looses some weight. It will come back when your gut slows down. Don't let it scare you.
