Posted - 05/07/2010 : 15:57:38 I was diagnosed with the following in 2006: Findings: As positioned in the scanner, there is straightening of the cervical lordosis. No abnormal cord signal intensity is apparent.
C3-4: A small central disc herniation produces mild anterior dural sac compression. C5-6: Mild to moderate disc bulging with spondylosis decreases the dural sac to just under 10mm. Mild to moderate left foraminal narrowing is observed. C6-7: Minimal disc bulge. Neck and bilateral arm pain began in 2005.
About a year later, right hip pain began, spread to left hip and lower back. Chiropratic says its SI Joint.
Prior to the neck pain, I went through several months of extremely stressful events. Once the pain hit, I hit rock bottom. Fear and my pain consumed me. I received an epidural shot in my neck which caused numbness in my face and legs. That is gone now.
Last month it felt like something changed in my neck. It had gotten better and really felt normal. It tighten up and sore. I sitting in a chair with my head leaning back and all of a sudden it started pulsating in the scape. I thought it was a blood vessel. Since that time my scalp has sore spots.
The continuing symptoms freak me out.
Is this all TMS?
Thanks for any words you may have here.

Posted - 05/08/2010 : 09:56:08 Have you read Dr. Sarno's book? If not, I suggest you start there. You may find your personality type is consistent with those who are susceptible to TMS, and that the book resonates with you.
According to Dr. Sarno, such findings on an MRI are normal and not the cause of pain. Discs are the shock absorbers of the spine and what is diagnosed as a bulge or herniation might not be pathological.
