I'm tired of trying. I'm just going to give up with any more chiro, osteopaths, pt, this and that. I have bulges in my neck and back, tilted pelvis, tight right body, tmj, ear ringing. Dental splints made it worst, what a waste of money for me.

I've had MS for 20 years so lots of falls due to balance problems, I have weakened muscles, also.

I am getting a total gym so I can do some exercise and walk on my treadmill and thats it. I just can't take anymore.

I even had NCR, balloons shoved up my nose to balance my sphenoid, man that made me worst.

I have been told not to twist, over exert, reach overhead, bend at my waist, crap I may as well just die. Have been given special pillows, heel lift, back brace etc.

so I just going to take it upon myself to work my muscles , start cleaning house again, and take muscle relaxer. I'm 56 and if I kill myself from moving well that would be ok I guess. Oh I've been told not to vacumn either- you know the twisting.

the more I got into the physical treatments with chiros, pts, etc, dental splints the worst I've become.

I figure if I'm going to be in pain let it be from muscle pain.

Quest. is there anything wrong with getting a massage now and then?

You're under the spell of a "nocebo." Forget what any doctor says...just use some common sense and slowly start to exercise and move normally. My wife has MS and has more stamina than I do (I'm still holding on to some lower back pain, haven't able to break the spell completely yet). Start very small, and build up a little each week. Give yourself a couple years to get better. It took years to go down the hole, so it can take years to climb out. Just keep looking up at the light.

Thanks for the link Gibbon and you too Catspine for the advice , I'm getting a used total gym tomorrow to start exercising slowly on,and will gone on from there, maybe a massage , we'll see, never had one, but I need to get off my butt and start moving again before I turn to stone, like a statue Ha Ha, not funny but thats where I'm heading.

I mean gee, I am 56 (feeling like 90) and I saw this little lady today, probably 80, all hunched back and walking with a cane and I bet she could out walk me ya know and she was smiling and driving herself.

I think its from doctors and pts telling me take it slow and easy that I got this way to begin with.

Sorry to hear you feel like you're at the end of your rope. Hopefully this will not last.

Many years ago I read that researchers observed that when someone feels okay and happy the red cells number in the blood decreases gradually as part of a natural process and builds back up while the person feels down. According to the author this was one of the reasons for the mood shifts and the impossibility to be well all the time. If this is the case then it may just be a question of time before you bounce back and feel better ,I mean psychologically at least and I hope this is just a bad episode you'll overcome in spite of the nature of your problems.

Maybe I'm getting the wrong picture while reading your post so please disregard this if you think that's the case, it seems like your fate has been in the hands of different persons for a long time already and that you're not happy at all with the results which in turn is leading to your decision to change that.

Speaking of the decision itself it could have a very positive effect on your health as you become more active than passive in the process of decision. There is a big difference as to how your body and mind will process the directions but how you are going to accomplish that with a maximum chance of success is the question though because you would not want to loose the advantages of what you did so far if there are any. Maybe your physicians can help you making a list of pros and cons about your decision that you can discuss with them while telling them what led you to it. You may sometimes encounter some resistance which often indicates you're on to something but after all if you are paying them for what you need from them you have some leverage here. Bear in mind that they can only help you within the limits of what they know and consider acceptable. The idea is to maximize your chances with a combination of what they know and are very good at and what you know and use that efficiently altogether for a better outcome.

hiya

I don't think there's anything wrong with having a massage. It can be something which helps you relax and de-stress. If you say that physical therapies are making you worse then it may well be time to give them a break and really concentrate on the psychological side of your chronic pain. There's overwhelming medical evidence that mind-related therapies are of benefit to chronic pain sufferers - regardless of the origin of their pain. Have you booked any appointments with a TMS specialist? http://tmswiki.wetpaint.com/page/Find+a+TMS+Doctor+or+Therapist

If you haven't, I would strongly recommend thinking about it....
