Posted - 02/15/2010 : 02:29:00 Hi Does anyone ever had to deal with skin or mucous membrane inflammation as part of symptom imperatives of tms including redness or even occasional light superficial bleeding internally or externally? More specifically on the tongue or in the upper mouth or throat. Thanks |

Posted - 02/18/2010 : 01:30:54 Very good Mala : your sense of humor is coming back... Life could have been different but it isn't because we aren't. Still I have no regrets. There is no light like the one that comes from burning the candle by both ends...It allows me to smile even when I was in a lot of pain. |

What was the point of being such a Ms goody two shoes!!!
It is the perfectionist in me of course. ARRRRRRRRRRRRRgHHHHHHHHH!!! Think it's too late to Change?????

Posted - 02/16/2010 : 01:09:17 Thanks Susan Good point about the doc forgetting to refer me to a gastro specialist...this one when by me unnoticed.Thank you. She went all the way down to the vocal cords but saw nothing abnormal. At some point the MD thought it was TB because of the symptom so I got tested twice once neg and once pos. It turns out in Europe vaccination is mandatory as soon as you enter school and every year during professional life if you wish . So of course I tested Positive because that's what happens if you were vaccinated . The test is free so they sent me for lungs xrays too and believe me they track you like a hawk: nothing there no TB. No gum disease either . Never smoke, never drink , not an illegal substances user, It's a mistery and although I try my best to figure it out sleeping sitting or at an incline laying down etc or wake up every hour and check where it could come from I can't figure it out . it seems like it seeping through the soft palate or from the inside of the sinuses part of it where there is a slight inflammation that comes and goes and moves around in the throat I mean I can feel it but I can't see it. If it's reflux I'm sure the reflux is TMS born but I never feel it so it doens't really match the symptoms. Skizzik I was thinking about some kind of a sore in the sinuses but there is no pain no swelling and nothing to be seen. as if the lining of the back of the upper mouth was porous. Bizarre... Sorry to hear you must endure an other annoying oddity. |

Posted - 02/15/2010 : 19:59:40 Catspine, being that you had your nose scoped, how about a definitive diagnosis of your GI tract? You might have reflux, you may have an irritated esophagus. I have had 2 endoscopies and was asleep, it was easy. Just to rule out anything gastro related, that might be your next step. The blood is coming from somewhere, good to find out where. When your dr. said it could be coming from reflux, she should have referred you to a gastroenterologist.
Is there any chance that your gums are bleeding during the night, after brushing teeth...gingivitis? Are you a smoker? Have your lungs been checked...blood stained sputum could be coming from the lungs. You can't treat it until you have a diagnosis, as you know. |

Posted - 02/15/2010 : 16:10:57 I definitely have a bunch of symptom imperative still bothering me but nothing that i can't handle . The most puzzling thing is a small amount of blood like quarter of a tea spoon usually present on the back of my tongue more dry than not in the morning it seems to be coming down from the back of my mouth onto my tongue over a few hours. there is no sign of anything wrong physically. I went to the only one nose and throat specialist over here. She ran a fiber optic cam up my nose and down deep to my throat and saw nothing, no source of bleeding. Strange isn't it.
She told me it could be that I have silent acid reflux at night that inflames the lining when it's dry. There is a light sensation of burn on the back of my tongue that comes and goes but it seems to come from the tongue itself and was not there in the first 6 months. there is nothing wrong with the tongue either according to her. ( the small amount of blood is only there in the morning often dried up and always on the same upper side of the tongue when my mouth is dry).
Considering the TMS symptoms imperative are stll presentI thought she might be right but nothing has changed in spite of all the different remedies or tests or tries physical or psychological. The condition has been going on for a year now, it started very gradually soon after an allergy to heavy antibiotics while treating a staph infection but the doctors I've seen dismissed the possibility of tissue damage. No MERSA either . Also there is no trace of blood at all when I blow my nose or during the day . No restriction in my nasal passages . No obstruction in the breathing but there is post nasal drip as if the immune system was constantly fighting something. I live on an active volcano and a lot of breating disorders are blame on the volcanic emissions which can include various symptoms but there is no test for that except moving to somewhere else for a while and see what happens. Got tested for HIV Hepatitis etc : results were Neg.
I'm wondering if the bleeding occurs when the sinuses dry up as it never happens during the day so my next question is can TMS cause dry mouth symptoms by affecting the saliva glands or through an other mechanism such as stopping the upper esophagus or sinuses moisturizing process? I know by experience that intense fear can do that but this goes on even in fearless times. I 'm 98% panic attack free as I worked on that successfully. but the bleeding never disappeared and MD's can't find anything wrong. I do not exclude the possibility of a virus but I do not know which one nor do I know how to test for that and doctors do not believe in this option. Not being familiar with how the medical profession works problems out in this country versus the European way I can only take what they tell me cautiously and proceed accordingly. Objectively I see and hear so many horror or bad stories compared to successful cure stories and my own experience with it is not convincing me that I can trust the medical profession unless I get 5 converging second opinions which over here would be hard to find anyway. Actually this is not right sorry I did get more converging opinions than that when my back was acting up but it ended up being TMS and I can only imagine what the situation would have turned into if I did not treat it as such successsfully. There seem to be many factors at play as to why I'm getting nowhere with doctors but I do not want to talk stink because I believe that there are very good ones and bad one and everything in between just like in any profession. What I find odd is that all the ones I have seen had no interest in finding what the problem is when they have no clue. They just dismissed me saying "you may never find what it is". or "sometimes you're better off no knowing" but when I tell them i'm not paying that amount for an I don't know answer the tension goes up a notch. Anyway enough whining already if anyone has an idea I'll explore it gladly. Thank you. |

Posted - 02/15/2010 : 15:58:53 I get small sores constantly. They are either dots, or be the size of half a tic tac.
Then I get the "lines", yes lines, from one to 3inhces sometimes. As if a single cat claw scratched me. It started on my ankles, went to my shoulder blades then to my right arm, now it has moved to my left arm and back of neck. Every time the lines and dots appear, they have left an area, and found a new one. They just appear for no cause I can find.
Dermatologist thinds I'm crazy, and with a short memory asks what I do for work, at home, allergies to new soaps..yada yada
Otherwise, I suppose nothing to worry about. The sores come, and heal w/in a month. But if I pick them, they bleed instantly. Left forearm looking pretty crappy right now.
Funny thing is, I have a line scar and dot scar on my right lower upper arm (make sense?) and months later I get the same line and dot on the left. I will have to show the dermy this one. Like I have 2 muslim symbols on me because it looks like the cresent moon and star.
oh well |

Posted - 02/15/2010 : 07:27:20 Catspine, internal bleeding? Where? Even thougb it might be a result of stress, could it be that a supplement may help? I take fish oil gelcaps...I know it has helped people with eczema and psoriasis which are sometimes attributed to stress. You could have an allergy, could be so many things. Have you seen a dermatologist? Lots of people have stuff now because of dry heat in their apartments. I use a humidifier and the itching and flaking stopped (and a moisturizer recommended by my dermatologist). |

Posted - 02/15/2010 : 06:30:45 I have not, although I do think certain forms of rashes are stress related.....as are uclers and cold sores.
Sarno also said in one of his books that the one medication that does seem to transiently help TMS symptoms is steroids. This is in one of his books. I think he said he didnt know why --- although in my view it probably reduced inflammation, secondary to restricted blood flow and modest tissue edema, etc. |
