Posted - 01/11/2010 : 13:38:02 I deleted what I originally wrote here when I could not delete the whole post because lately when I write, I rarely get any response. Maybe I am somehow re-creating on here some childhood rejection? Being a sensitive TMSer and artist, I am starting to take this personally..Maybe I could learn something from this, but what? If there is something I say that turns people off, please let me know..I will work on changing it, if I agree..I am on here for the same reasons as everyone else, to recover and to help others when I can..I am in a pretty bad setback with my neck due to big time stress on many levels. Don't want to share if no one cares if I do.
Feedback anyone? I don't want to give up on a forum that has helped me sooo much in the past. Thanks, Karen |

Posted - 02/03/2010 : 16:59:13 I know what you mean about replies to the posts. I tend to worry about the same things. As for your blood pressure, it definitely can be stress caused but if it doesn't go down, please go to the dr because untreated high bp can lead to an early death, no matter what is causing it. |

I think that the post amount (over 1k) may give off the false impression to people that because your'e a veteran on the board, "they" being more of a noobie perhaps may feel like they are stepping on your toes by giving you any advice. Maybe start a new user name here? |

Posted - 02/03/2010 : 15:08:56 Thanx heart a tact..Appreciate the advice..I guess because I am overweight more then ever in my life, I feel like I am at risk..A few days ago I also had chest pains that came and went after the argument w/ my roommate..I have to get healthy again! |

Posted - 02/03/2010 : 15:02:16 TMS can absolutely raise blood pressure! Blood pressure, if I'm not mistaken, is far more widely accepted by the 'medical establishment' to be 'stress-related' than many other ailments that we TMS'ers know to be mentally-induced as well.
in other words-- you can, at the very least, feel re-assured that the change in BP is due to emotions rather than any dangerous physical change in your body. if a doctor recommends medical treatment, i think it would be best to follow his/her advice while working on the emotional issues that are the true cause. |

Posted - 02/03/2010 : 13:59:39 Sorry Gibbon & tcherie, I haven't been on here for a bit again..Appreciate your thoughts very much..Now I am worried about high BP..Never had that, but also gained a lot of weight due to being layed up w/ either TMS or a real injury..I am also VERY stressed due to major life changes going on..My worst recent reading was 153/89! For me, that is very high..I used to have low BP just a few years ago..I am also going through the dreaded peri-menopause, I am sure that doesn't help..I averaged 5 readings of my BP and it was 145/82 which is so bad..The bottom number is ok..but the top isn't..I read online that now they realize the top is just as important as the bottom..I want to just eat right, lose weight, etc..and heal this without running to the doctor! I am feeling scared though, because this never happened b4..Wondering if TMS can raise one's BP? Blessings, Karen |

Posted - 01/13/2010 : 14:19:07 Just want to say don't stop posting. I too have felt like you have at times, sensitive to the possible lack of response to a post.
I figured that it was probably my tms type personality that heightened my sensitivity. You never know how what you say affects someone else, and when you are past all this TMS pain, people will look at your posts and realize that you had your ups and down, but you never gave up. That can be encouraging also. |

good luck with the CD release! When's it out?
UK's in the middle of the coldest winter for about 50 years....there's been snow on the ground for most of the past two weeks (v unusual...)...it's meant that all school's have had an extre week's holiday - which is great cos i'm a teacher. Fingers crossed for more snow next week |

If we're swapping compliments about websites, i love your paintings! You're really talented....i levelled out somewhere around stick men . I like the Pollock-esque fractal types - synergy and the gathering...they're the sort of paintings you can lose yourself in...and for the realism stuff i really liked desert wallflowers...

Posted - 01/12/2010 : 10:52:23 don't take things personally, the internet is just a bit impersonal sometimes! I think you're just reading too much into forum responses...(or lack of them)....
I was a bit put out that more people didn't reply to my thread titled "I've just made my own TMS website." But then i thought about it, and asked myself why it annoyed me....it's because i'd invested a lot of time and effort in it, so for me, that simple URL represented quite a big deal - but for everyone clicking on my thread? Well, it's just another link. I guess the situation's the same for you - when you write about something really personal it means a great deal to you - much more than it can ever mean to someone reading it - and so there is always likely to be something of an underwhelming response....just because of those expectations.
don't take a lack of replies as rejection! (and i think that the thread views counter is a bit suspect - either the forum gets a huge amount of non-registered member traffic, or it counts every time someone clicks on it....even if the same person clicks a few times. That will mean that you will get a lot of views for every reply.)
