I'm back- Hacker's gone! Although I am a definite TMS success story, new things pop up here and there and I need my connection to this forum to keep being reminded of all the things that can be TMS. I don't think you are ever free of this syndrome, it is just a part of how your body works, you just have to remain aware of it and work with it, not against it.

Carolyn,

Hi, I had some questions about Prostatitis myself that are just one or two topics below this new one...could you speak to any of that. I realize you are a woman...but we all know now its not our prostate and symptoms aren't any different than yours...

That's not so embarassing.... my whole saga put me through much more humiliation than that.

1. Yes I did get hemorrhoids and multiple anal fissures. Chronic problem- All a response to too much tension down there. Not the cause of the problem but the result. Both are completely gone now.

2. I like journaling because it is a defined thing you do and less vague than 'spend some time feeling you emotions' and therefore not as easy to cheat on. But I think this is a VERY important point- the key for me was not to spend some time at the end of the day journaling or feeling emotions it was to start recognizing and feeling the emotions right when they happen- whereever you are whether it's convenient or not- not just trying to recall them later.

3. I personally do think there is something to accupuncture- and yes probably your system is 'out of wack' but you are not going to fix it no matter what you do unless you address the psychological cause. It's kind of like trying to fill a bucket with a hole in it. Maybe you relieve a little bit of the tension but if you're still building more up you won't see any difference.

I never feel from our correspondence that you have given yourself over 100% to the non-physical explanation and I do really think that's why you are not getting better. I think if you work with this chiro/accupuncture Dr, it will keep you focussed on the physical and will probably slow your progress. Just my opinion but I tried physical therapy, accupuncture and every other thing I could track down and nothing worked except the TMS approach.

I challenge you to wake up tomorrow and say that's it- no more physical treatments- nothing- period- no matter what. Every time the idea pops into your head, get angry and say NO #@$@#$@# Way!!!!!!!! No more doctors- they are not helping you - you KNOW this. The cure is NOT out there so stop looking- it is right there in you. You are using your constant searching and googling as the distraction so stop that too. You cannot do this half way.

One last interesting note.... I have not had pelvic pain in at least 4 years. Today I was back visiting where I used to live (moved out of state 6 years ago) and wouldn't you know, I went into a deli I used to go to all the time and I felt a twinge of the old pelvic pain. It actually made me laugh and then poof it was gone.

Here are my questions...

1. This is a bit embarrassing, but with the rectal spasm and tightness, did you develop hemorrhoids as well?

2. I know you are a big fan of journaling and I agree with that, but I know of other people who have done well with pelvic pain just by allowing time each day to feel emotions. Sort of like meditation. Isn't this what you are after in journaling? Or do you think journaling is a MUST do?

I did meet with a doc here that is into acupuncture and chiro. He seems very knowledgeable and he thinks my nervous system is simply out of whack, etc. He basically said I need to get my body "reset" and it will heal itself. He said it is important for me "to get out of it's way." I liked that. I'm going to work with him on top of working with my emotions and see where that goes.

I got stuck in the "it must be a physical cause" road there for a while not too long ago. Started to think maybe it was some messed up nerves, etc. But my gut was like, not so sure. I know it was just desperation and fear in me wanting it to be gone NOW.

Anyway, that is what I wanted to ask for now. :)

Thanks!

Paul,
I can't remember my password so I don't know if that account's up- I only used if for internet correspondence. You can post question here or if it's too personal, i'll keep trying to figure out where I wrote down the password or I'll create a new account.. But, most any problem you're having will probably help someone else as well.

Hey Carolyn, just let me know if that email works. I want to send you a few questions regarding pelvic pain if you don't mind. Or I can post them here, whatever you prefer.

Thanks!

Hi Paul,
Yikes- your pelvic pain is stubborn. Is it any better at all? I haven't had so much as a twinge in a long while- years (meant to give you hope - not brag). I get other things but once you really get the upper hand on TMS, you can deal with anything as it comes up. I am constantly amazed at how many physical things are in fact TMS. Do you see any change at all? Do you journal every day? Have you tried therapy? I've been in therapy for about a year- didn't start until after my pain was gone but I think therapy would help anyone just in better understanding what makes you tick. I just happened to have really good insurance for a limitted period of time so decided to take advantage of it.
After all our conversations, I know you have TMS and therefore you can beat it- 100%, maybe journal about what might be holding you back- doubts you have, etc....
I haven't checked that e-mail ina long time- I'll go see if it's still opened.

Hey Carolyn, nice to see you around again. How are you? I'm STILL having the pelvic pain junk, ugh. Do you still answer that email account that I used to email you at?
