For anyone who says that your mental state and pain are distinct entities.. I was just rejected by a girl I really like, and damn what physical pain shortly thereafter.

The first time I developed my TMS neck pain was after a rejection by a woman years ago. The pain has come and gone many times and I think it flares up when I feel rejected.

And my biggest back pain incident came on right after I intuited that my girl friend would ultimately leave me (she did a couple years later).

It makes sense to me that rejcection would ding our low self esteem which is already low in TMS sufferers.
