Hello All,

I have not been on the board in a long time. I consider myself a TMS success story and I thank God for having found Dr. Sarno's books. His approach has been a blessing.

I will not list all the ailments (distractions) I have had. You could search my posts, or let me say this... it was a laundry list. But, I encourage you all to stay the course and JOURNAL.

I am 98% undistracted..LOL! Except for my "base" TMS, or my original TMS if you will. The culprit?...ACNE.

I believe my acne is TMS. I know it in my heart of hearts. I have had this distraction for 17 years roughly. I stopped taking medications when I found out about TMS. When I stopped my acne got a little better. Today it is much better, but not completely gone. In fact lately I have focused on it more. That is a distraction and I relise there is more mental work to do.

So here is what I am asking of you. I would like anybody with a history of skin troubles and feels they have overcome them by using TMS teachings, to lend their insights and give me some advice. I searched the forum posts, but could not pin down what I was looking for. Thanks in advance and I wish you all the best of luck.

JIMMY

P.S. If you told me when I was hurt with TMS that I would run a half-marathon some day, Play flag football competively for years now, and lift weights without fear. I would have told you..."I am really hurt here". LOL! Stay positive.

Thanks for the reply CRK,

I have been interested in diet for general health reasons for awhile now. I have never come across the Paleo diet though.

What foods in your diet did you add and subtract?

Thanks, JIMMY

I am convinced that tms can aggravate any physical problem.

I believe the main cause of acne, however, is diet. Hormones can also mess you up, but diet is the main offender. In my forties, when I thought I'd *never* be free of acne, I went on the Paleo diet and it disappeared, along with 2 other skin afflictions. I did not go on the diet for my acne; it was a surprise perk.

Just my 2c.

Good luck!

Thanks Hilary for the reply.

I went to the link for skin conditions on TMS wiki, it was helpful.

Any others with advice, info, or strategies would be appreciated.

Take care,

Jimmy

Hi Jimmy,

Good to hear of your success.

There's a page on the TMS wiki:

TMS Skin conditions

with a couple of success stories, but it needs expanding, so if you (or anyone else) do come across any more, please do add them!

We're doing a demo tomorrow on how to edit the wiki, so do join us if you're free:
