Posted - 05/02/2009 : 13:50:39 hi guys, i thought i was improving greatly with my upper back pain and severe spaciness/anxiety, but i had a set back. what i find so unbeliavable is that when my anxiety reaches critical levels, i have NO back pain, and when i have pain (upper back and arms), i am very calm inside, just upset. it maybe happens only 10% of the time that i have both at the same time, and eventually one takes over. also, before my pain settled in the upper back, it would move to my neck, my head, my lower back, everywhere. fact is, now that my pain is improving, the old anxiety, this feeling of being overwhelmed, unable to cope with things, is back. i also have a very restless feeling in my arms/ hands. this also alternates with anxiety. how to break this circle? it really seems that its all part of one and the same thing. i have this stupid job where i have to sit for hours: my back hurt today. as soon as i was in the crisp fresh air, my back stopped hurting. is this circulation related? also when i lean my back to something, it hurts more. could this also be that the circulation sort of becomes slower? i feel at a loss sometimes. my traits: very high strung, ambitious, idealistic, sensitive, proud and still a hypochondriac. i may move to ny in the end of august. should i see sarno? just felt like "sharing". i realize my post sort of sounds easy going but the truth is, its hard for me. my neck mri was normal. they also did a brain one, 3 years back, because i was so scared of ms. they took x rays of my upper back: normal. should i insist for an mri? my lasagna is ready... bye folks. and thanks for reading. |

What is it you don't like about your job? I would explore that . . .
Also, what are you doing to get your feelings of being overwhelmed out of you? Any type of therapy or journaling? That was invaluable for me. Overwhelmed? Write . . .
It's up to you if you want to see Dr. Sarno. I'm very glad I did. |
