These are the things I discuss with my girlfriend everyday!!!

Meds are such a bad idea, they just mask the condition, I am going to try your method.

i will let you know when my mind overpowers!!

yes, you need to start paying more attention to your mind's activity throughout the day. Chances are you are pretty focused on insomnia, and who wouldn't be. Not being able to sleep sucks.

Try this, every day start seeing if you can catch yourself doing any of the following things.

-any thoughts related to what somebody else is thinking of you (even minute ones that may seem insignificant)
-ruminating about something that is out of your immediate control
-doing something and worrying about the outcome (perfectionism)
-striving to impress somebody

I first read Sarno about 5 years ago and actually spent over a year with one of Sarno's therapists. I have to say that in my case, it's really the everyday chronic unhealthy thoughts that drive my symptoms. It's very difficult to get out of the cycle, but the first step is to really understand what your thought process is really like every day and to realize how unhealthy it is.
