So I've just finished "Mindbody Prescription" and I firmly believe my pain and anxiety are due to TMS. I know what a lot of my underlying issues are, both present and from childhood, and feel I should have plenty to write about. I'm so eager to start, but every time I sit down to write, I pretty much go blank. I just can't get started for some reason. I'll have a couple things written, but it doesn't get any deeper or progress further. I think maybe I'm overwhelmed with where to start, since I have so much on my mind already. Anyone else have this problem, and if so, how did you become successful with journaling?

Thanks!
Angel

Thanks to you both for the suggestions. I do feel I need to reread parts of the book to make sure I really absorb it all. I'm going to check out the workbook and the page about journaling very soon!

You may want to check out this page about journaling. I wouldn't suggest reading all of it but you can pick and just read the things that feel the best to you.

if you don't feel like writing, don't force it, just read 30 minutes every day and spend some time thinking about what you might be repressing. I'd also recommend the daily reminders in Sarno's "healing back pain".
dr Schecters book "the mind body workbook" is also good to get started journaling. I was like you and had a hard time writing on my own, but this book asks the right questions to get you going, there's not a lot to it, but it works to give you an idea how to start writing about your feelings. good luck!
