Posted - 04/06/2009 : 19:57:47 I recently had to help my 75 year old Dad move back to NJ from Virginia after a short 4 year 2nd marriage. His moving back "home" near my mom, brother and sister is bringing with it a bunch of aggravation. Truth is, he hurt my mom through infidelity. Married his mistress. Soon found out the grass isn't greener and moved back to his old home town. (not back with mom, but 4 miles away)
So, family tension was high. I've always been the peace keeper. The one who deals with him, despite the rest of the family being a lot less patient with him.
It's no surprise that within the first day of helping him move in, shopping for necessities, helping to arrange his new apartment - my back starts to spasm. Fortunately, I saw it coming and was able to laugh it off.
It was bad enough to know it was stress induced - but not so bad because I didn't let myself be concerned.
Sure enough, the morning I left to go back home to my house - it immediately felt better.
Stress, family tension, work, money, anything that causes fear, frustration or worry can set off an attack or worsen existing symptoms.
Being aware of TMS and watching from an outsiders perspective once again PROVED without a shadow of a doubt that my issues are TMS.
Be aware of what is going on in your life. Focus on the emotions in your life and don't give the pain a second thought. You too will prove TMS is your reason for pain.
Witness it happening more than once and you can be 100% positive.
