Hello everybody.Since i have been diagnosed with H.pylori a few weeks ago i started to have really big pains all over my stomach.I took my antibiotics and it still hurted. So i went to gastroentherologist to do full check up of my stomach. He did endoscopy,ct scan, and every other test, and he couldnt find nothing wrong. He sad its all good, and even he sad that i didnt had to take antibiotics, because they still dont know does that bacteria do us any harm.He sad that 2/3 of all humans have it.When i asked him why i have pains he coulnt say.

I know its tms since there is nothing structuraly wrong with me but its really hard to accept that it can be in our stamach.I have pains all over my stomach, and its constantly moving,up,down, left, right, even go in my back a bit.And when i woke up,they are not here for a couple minutes. Then they start.

So what do you all think?

I do some healthcare consulting in my work. If you ask any gastroenterologist what their biggest problem is, he or she will tell you that it is that the patients' problems are caused by stress, and he or she has to get them to understand that, while at the same time trying to make sure that nothing more serious is going on in the digestive system.

Talk to your therapist and your doctor about everything that is going on in your life, and then ask if they think there is a connection. Most therapists and doctors have had many patients with problems like you've described, and realize that stress is the major culprit.

I met with my therapist yesterday, and mentioned what I just said about gastroenterologists, and he told me that 2/3 of the primary care docs he speaks with tell him that they think that many of the physical issues they see can be attributed to stress.

I am an old man and have known a great many troubles, but most of them never happened.

Thx for good advices mizlorinj.

I will definatly bring emotions on the table next time i see him.enough about this stupid fear of symptoms.I have to many things to worry about rather then pain.

Once more thx for support,it relly means much.

Then I would be writing about or talking to the therapist about the fears you mention. Maybe there is something deeper under that fear.

Think about: If things like GERD (intestinal), headaches, dry skin, and heartburn are likely mind/body issues (or TMS equivalents), why can't a stomach issue be too?

Best wishes!

Thx mizlorinj.

I am going to my theryphyst. We work on things like that.It just i was so obssesed with my physical symtoms,so afraid of stomach pain and that bactery. But after doc told me yesterday that my guts are all ok,i feel much better, and i will begin to ignore my physical symtoms and work just on emotions. But i found it wery hard to accept stomach as TMS.If it was anywhere else in my body,i wouldnt give a damn. And the worst of all my pains are very mild, but its the fear that i am afraid of,of what could happen, can this be something so serious that it will ruin my life and stuff like that...

pericakralj:
Since you were easily able to mention some bothersome topics, I would suggest getting some of the feelings out. That is very healing to the body. Start by writing the topic at the top of the page and let your feelings come out. If you have trouble feeling anger, try using frustrated or irritated instead to stir things up.
I am positive this would be helpful to you.

the digestive system is a prime target for tms symptoms and are extremely common. that said, many serious GI problems can be very difficult to diagnose correctly so it is important to persevere.
antibiotics can actually cause more problems in many cases and usually are not needed unless there is some infection with a very harmful pathogen.
have you looked at your diet, or tried using a good probiotic supplement? I use digestive advantage chron's and colitis formula, but there are many good brands including probiotics.com or primal defense products. i use digestive advantage because it is a bargain compared to the others.
I was diagnosed with chron's many years ago but it took three or four years and an acute episode and surgery before they gave me a conclusive diagnoses of what i had.
I DO think that initially there was a psychological basis for the cause of the disease and deeply repressed emotions are still causing problems for me, but I still have trouble applying tms concepts to my disease, I do use diet modifications with some success though.

Mind/body (TMS, equivalent, etc.) issues can be anywhere in the body. You've been checked by a doctor who found nothing abnormal, so what are you doing to help yourself believe it's TMS?
There could easily be an emotional cause for bacteria being unbalanced in your stomach. What emotions could be causing the imbalance? I'd start by exploring that. Did something happen in your life around the time the pains started?

Best wishes.
