Does anyone else try to fight the pain without taking pain meds? I often feel like I am going to battle with this pain.

Nah, it's like a divider thing.

Hey Scott
Just out of curiousity. Is this , ~*~ , a symbol for the third eye?

My problem is that I have a very sensitive stomach. I can just about tolerate motrin, which I've been living on for several weeks. Any suggestion? Thanks for your help.

I took percocet for 2 years, it was honestly the best 2 years of my life. I still had pain on occasion but it was just great knowing that whenever I wanted relief I could just reach in my pocket and pull a percocet. Just be careful, after 2 years withdrawal is horrible. It was all worth it though, I would definitely do it again. I would probably try to moderate a little better though.

I have always been amazed at the will power of those who do not take meds, I certainly have a difficult time staying off of them.

No need to torture yourself, though. If you're hurting there's no reason to kick your own ass for not getting rid of your TMS pain well enough or something like that.

It is a battle. I have managed to stay off pain meds for the better part of 15 years but found pain meds to be helpful during my current flare up (very bad sciatica).

The difference this time was that I had physically exhausted myself due to a number of factors in my life. The pain fed the exhaustion resulting in more pain. I was getting very little sleep. No amount of mental or emotional work was pulling me out of this hole. I had hit a wall.

I eventually landed in the ER. The ER was a terrific reminder that the conventional medical system does not care for psychosomatic symptoms and pushed me back towards TMS.

I was prescribed a strong Vicodin by my doctor. The opiate in Vicodin is what helped me to relax and sleep. Several days of this allowed me to regain my physical strength and resume the battle.

The lesson learned is that one must have strength to do battle. I think it is necessary to sometimes take a break and if needed get some pharmacological help.
