Does anyone else ever experience this back and forth stuff?

I found that I would go back and forth when I was focused on negative things, or I had an expectation for something to happen at a certain time and it didn't.

The back and forth happened initially then got less and less, where I felt more good about my days then bad.

I can't say that I am the most ecstatic person around, but I have not felt depressed in a while. Mainly because I no longer see my current situation as my whole life. The mind is a powerful thing and you have to train your mind much like you do with the other physical type TMS symptoms. So you have to train your mind to not feel hopeless. You will lose that hopeless feeling by surrounding yourself with people who understand and can relate to how you feel, but overcame it. I would also recommend reading the books that alot of members on the forum have recommended. They focus a lot on revamping how you think about things.

I do not know if you have a physical ailment that is causing your depression, but regardless, if you knew that on March 12, 2010 that your issue would be gone, would you feel depressed now? Probably not, you may feel down because you have to deal, but not depressed because you know it will be over.

With TMS symptoms you have to start believing that it is just a matter of time. Then you start feeling better emotionally, and physically.

So what Marsha said is true, you have to develop a positive outlook.

Good days and bad days are very common for me.
Try not to get too upset. This only makes for more bad days.
For me having a positive out look helps.
Don't give up.
