Posted - 05/10/2009 : 06:33:50 I have always felt that there were mind-body components to difficulty with conception. I've known so many women who were told by their doctors that they could not conceive and who decided to adopt a child, and within a year or two after adopting they became pregnant! It happens so often that it seems really apparent that once they focused on their new child and stopped worrying about conceiving, they were able to conceive.
I've been in menopause for the past year and half, and earlier this year I decided to try the TMS techniques to eliminate my hot flashes and it seems to have really worked! Instead of getting all upset and worrying whenever I have a hot flash, I just remind myself that worrying will only make them worse and tell my brain that there's not a problem and to stop giving me hot flashes, and they go away immediately and don't return. I had noticed that just thinking about having one could make me have one and that was a big tip-off for me that it was probably TMS or had TMS components to it.
That being said -- when it comes to menstrual irregularities, it probably depends on your age, and you should always see a doctor to make sure there it nothing physical going on before deciding it's TMS. |

Read these and tell me (some) menstrual irregularities aren't TMS.

From personal experience I'd say not. With my second child it only took one occasion to conceive!
I've had awful periods since I was 11 years old...one week on, one week off, awful cramps etc. The pill sorted that out but whenever I have not been on it I have been erratic, 21 days, 40 days etc. I don't think any of that was TMS related.

Posted - 05/05/2009 : 21:22:51 I thought I'd bump this post...
I haven't had a period yet this year (amenorrhea), although I've had a couple irritable days and hot flashes during the time I'm supposed to have my period. I'm sure it's stress/TMS related, but it still kinda freaks me out. Strange how it can just disappear! I even have endometriosis, so it's really weird not having anything show up. I'm not trying to get pregnant, but I wonder if TMS could prevent pregnancy, or make it more difficult to conceive? |

Posted - 02/24/2009 : 14:39:34 My cycle starting going haywire about 4 years ago, before I learned about TMS. It is still completely unpredictable. I had some tests done and did tons of research to find possible causes, to no avail (meaning, I found a lot of leads but nothing helped). I do believe that endocrine/hormonal disruption is a TMS equivalent. I'm surprised that there haven't been more responses to this.
tcherie - Enjoyed your email. I'll get back to you soon! |

Posted - 02/19/2009 : 21:07:03 That's the same thing with me. Just the past three months I have been consistently 4 days earlier. I have noticed the trend more so since I discovered tms and have been trying to follow the anti-tms techniques. |
