Hi All,

Well, it's been over a month since I hurt my thumb joint however today I went to the hand specialist and he told me why my MCP joint was hurting.

Good new is I didn't need any MRI...Just the examination and x-ray is all he needed. No, I don't have any RSI, but from what I explained to him and from what he checked out he told me I temporarily impinge the nerve in my thumb.

Now if this injury would of been going on for MONTHS, I would of thought for sure TMS, but in all truthfullness it's been just hitting the 4 week mark and this Monday I started feeling way better. I was almost going to cancel, but I am glad I didn't as my mind is at rest.

One thing I do want to say though all that STRESS and grief caused pain all over my body in my right hand and it felt as though had (which i don't believe in) Fibromalagia or even arthritis.

The mind is POWERFUL and TRULY believe that TMS can make it worst!!! I am going to keep reading the forum as you all are an inspiration to me...

Keep up the GOOD FIGHT and thank you for all your wonderful repsonses!!! Kalo

Hi HellNY,

I think stressing over it did make it hurt worst because as a term I am now usning "hyper focusing" does make it worst.

Just want to let everyone that I am not a stranger to TMS (even though I don't post alot) but, believe me I have had my share of
horible neck pain and arm pain.

Went to so many doctors and finally neurologist and sure a couple herninated disc in my neck.

Thank God for Dr. Sarno as that is when I stopped seeing the docs., alternative practioners and it finally went away.

However, the key was not to "hyperofocus" on it the pain. It's tough and not easy, especially when ones mind keeps "what if".

Thanks for the reply!

Or perhaps the Stress and grief causes TMS? About 99% of "normal" people would hurt their thumb would not "worry" and it is over in a week or two. But with us, our "focus-worry-attention-analysis- hand-wringing-concern-symptom-dissectin-Dr.visiting-neuroticism" actually makes it last weeks on end?

I think thats us.

Just a thought.
