I know that is a strange question. But I have been actually feeling better. I would say that how I feel now, many "normal" people feel on a daily basis and do not even think about it. Don't get me wrong, the pain is sneaky and it shifts and moves, but the intensity and duration is definitely lightening up.

But the strange thing is that my mood isn't any better. I still feel worried and concerned about my health. It is as if I do not feel like dealing with life unless I know that my health is perfect, because the pressures of life just seem to much to bear when you are not at your best.

Even though I really want to get better, its almost like what's my excuse for not performing once I get my health back. Maybe it just takes time for your mental to catch up with the physical, especially when you have been struggling for while. I guess I am still being too hard on myself.

http://podolsky.everybody.org/rsi/ has some great reflection on the void that recovering leaves -- and how to fill it with something other than worry. :)

Its unfortunate that you have to wait that long for needed tests. I do however, hope the results of your tests are good. Please keep us posted.

Thank you so much. I am very irritated with my doctor right now and I am looking for a new one who will treat me with more of a sense of urgency. I'm feeling very with the healthcare system in general right now.

I am deep in a "I'll do it when I feel better" state of mind. I'm having severe abdominal pain, and I'm still waiting to rule out a physical cause. (I have six more weeks of agony until my endoscopy. UGH.) I try to go on with my life as much as possible, but sometimes I feel like I'm pushing myself too hard or too far and I have to stop and relax. I'm still trying to find the balance between doing what I want to do and not feeling like I have to do everything all at once or I'm a failure. (Can you smell the perfectionism?)

I can understand being afraid of letting the pain go because it means you will have to address whatever the pain is distracting you from.
