Since reading the divided mind, I have never been more depressed. It forced me to look at my life in greater detail, and let me tell you, this time the depression seems soo intense. Maybe im looking for reassurance that this is the road to better health, because it sure feels like hell right now. Nothing seems to bring me joy, yet I have always tried to be strong, I just hope this depression doesnt continue to worsen, but infact gets better. Seems like I cant find a happy memory or current state of mind anywhere.

Bobby,

Be assured that dealing with depression can be a very intense process.

Are you creative at all? I know many people that got rid of their depression through creative activites or pursuits.

Another key thing with depression is feeling your anger. Are you aware of your anger? Healthy adults feel angry often and then it guides them to take the correct action. It is also important to distinguish between feeling angry and acting out anger. Acting anger out doesn't actually allow the person to process their anger, so it makes the anger worse. People that can have their anger without "acting it out" are able to process through it much easier.

An example of having anger is just writing down in a journal all the things you feel angry about. Let the writing be messy and just have it. Short sentences about things that piss you off or make you furious.

Best of luck,

John

get the feelings out. It's a relieving process.

I feel sad because ? ? ? and under that might be because ? ? ?

It's very enlightening to start to de-layer.

Depression is a TMS equivalent. It is not uncommon for your unconscious to change symptoms when you start to educate yourself about the theory and threaten to blow the cover on the whole operation.

Try to 'float' through it and keep delving deeper into the psychological realm. Accept that the depression is a good sign. You are finally addressing things in your life that you have not fully faced up to before. It's part of the process.

Nevertheless if you are facing severe depression you might need to consider psychoanalysis.

I identify, as I was re-reading my original notebook entries of 3 years ago and the sadness of my childhood was overwhelming. But then I realized that although that sad upbringing was a part of my life it is not who I am in total. My experience has been that depression and anxiety are part of TMS symptoms especially, if I've been suffering acute pain.

It has been just about 5 years since I was released from devastating back pain which, has not returned. Recently, (I understand completely why) I have been getting TMS pain in my left leg and that has caused a spout of depression, All-in-all I am grateful that I understand what TMS is because it has taught me so much about myself. After all, how can I fix the 'problem' if I don't know who I am first? TMS has helped me to dig deeper and in doing so I have felt sadness, loneliness, despair and yes, joy.

Best Wishes.
