How is everyone doing? Good I hope. Well a few of you know me on here I am the one always complaining about my lymph nodes . Well my biopsy was benign so my doctor chose to test me for autoimmune diseases. I am not sure if anyone here is familiar with autoimmune diseases but I had the ANA test which was positive but weakly positive at 1:160. I finally found my TMS books and I briefly read about TMS and autoimmune disease and Sarno mentions with Lupus it might be able to be reversed? I am very nervous as to having lupus or some kind of autoimmune disease other than the enlarged nodes i feel great!! besides anxiety though. Anyway i have been under tremendous amounts of stress and emotional distress so I dont know if anyone has any thoughts on this. Sarno does mention a book to read on this has anyone read it (forgive me I do not remember the name). Thanks for listening.

That does help me thanks for your story. I found out my other blood work was perfect and since besides lymph node enlargement I have no other symptoms she said it was a false positive. I just wish I knew why I have so many palpable lymph nodes. Dr. Sarno is my doctor I'm starting to consider seeing him again but I know TMS can't cause paalpable lymph nodes. At least I don't think it can.

Hi, Jena, I’m new to the site but wish I’d found it long ago.

Some years ago, when I began having very scary and strange symptoms (later diagnosed as Fibromyalgia), I had many tests and the only positive was the ANA. In my case, it was very high—something like eight times the normal. I didn’t see a Rheumatologist (sic) at the time, and when I later asked a physician about high ANA, he told me that there are numerous reasons, other than Lupus, for an elevated rate.

Later, when I saw Andrea Leonard Segal, I brought along the test results but, because of specifics from my test, she wasn’t concerned about it and diagnosed me with TMS (Fibromyalgia for insurance purposes). I hope this helps.

Jena, it appears to me that your problem is more related to hypochondriasis/anxiety than it is to TMS. The fear seems to be the predominant issue in your case, as you aren't really dealing with any pain or other symptoms that may be due to underlying emotional issues. I think you need to stop seeing your doctors for a little bit and go see a psychiatrist who can help you deal with these fears -- whether it be via therapy or medications or both. I would defer to them to make those decisions. Once you address the fear, you can more appropriately decide if you still need to see more doctors for further testing, etc. and/or whether TMS is playing a role in your health and well-being. Good luck!

Best,
MK
