Can someone explain to me the rage/soothe ratio?

Also, do symptoms come about from the resevoir becoming too full or too much rage at once? In other words, if I created the same amount of rage in 10 years or 1 week, would the 1 week situation have a greater chance of creating symptoms?

Most of my rage comes from TODAY.

But it's my REACTION in the NOW, today, that I learned YESTERDAY, or 10 or 20 or 30 or 40 years ago, and it's dysfunctional.

That's what you have to get at. Why do I react this way? Why am I SO angry? Why this extreme? Why can't I express it? Whenever the rage explodes, pick it apart.

You need to find joy in things to help balance the stressors in life. That's the rage/soothe ratio. There are many articles these days in finding joy--I'll find the links tomorrow. How important it is to do things we enjoy. Things that boost our feel-good neurotransmitters.
A walk in nature
piece of good dark chocolate
enjoyable conversation
hugging a friend
enjoyable music
smile at a passerby
Things like that that make us feel good. We NEED those things.
The Solution (pathway) calls these things JOY POINTS and they will be heavily discussed, John!

Symptoms come when the reservior is overflowing with all our stressors/issues.
