Hi everyone,
I just wanted to let you know that I went to a very interesting panel discussion at Dr Sarno's yesterday. Four people who have been "cured" of their pain by using the TMS program told their story and answered questions. They have all been pain free for about 5 to 10 years - they still get aches from time to time but apply the TMS theory and the pain goes away immediately. The majority of the 2 1/2 hours was responses to questions from the audience - all people in Sarno's program. It was very helpful. It was taped and is going to be available for everyone. I think they are planning to do it once a month which should be great. I suffer now from many TMS equivalents and the resounding suggestion was to do the psychotherapy one on one work.

Thanks, GoodGuy. I'll see if I can find him. If anyone else has info about therapists in the Palm Beach area, pls let me know. Thanks.

Unfortunately, Dr. Sarno doesn't take calls from people outside the NY metro area. I think there is a TMS MD in Florida, though (Brady?). Maybe he can give you a referral.

By the way, I didn't just call Dr. Sarno for a referral. I made an appointment to see him, went through his program, and later got a referral. You may have to do the same with Dr. Brady. Good luck.

GoodGuy,
Did you email or call Dr. Sarno for a therapist referral? I've never contacted him. I'm sure he's inundated with calls and emails. I live in Florida, but hopefully he'll know of someone. Thanks.

Because I live on Long Island, I had to leave work early every Tuesday in order to make the meetings. I though the first few meetings I attended were helpful, but I couldn't really keep leaving work early every week. I'll probably go back from time to time, but just not every week.

If you are going to start therapy, you may want to get a recommendation from Dr. Sarno. He knows many therapists who are familiar with TMS. He gave me a great recommendation.

Good guy,

Why did you stop going to the Tuesday night group sessions? I am considering starting them. I am also just about to start seeing a therapist through my church.

Thanks for the info. I just stopped going to the Tues. night group meetings, and I'm sorry I didn't know about this. Please let me know if you hear about another one coming up.
