Hi, I just wanted to introduce myself and let people on here know that I am a psychologist in Portland, Oregon and I specialize in treating people with TMS and psychosomatic symptoms. Personally, I've had rheumatoid arthritis for 22 years but due to working from John Sarno's perspective as well as many other mindbody/psychosomatic approaches, I no longer take any medication. I windsurf, ski, hike...all of which doesn't mean I never have some pain. Yet, due to my training and experience, both clinical and from my personal life, I'm able to understand the underlying reason for the pain and not be effected for too long.

I very much enjoy working with people who are seeking relief from physical symptoms. My info is below:

Welcome to the message board! It's always good to hear from a psychologist who understands TMS.

Can you tell us a little more about your professional background, and how long you've been dealing with TMS and mind-body work?

It's great that you're using Dr. Sarno's approach to help control the symptoms of your RA!
