last night. This man studied a type of monkey for years and found that the ones with the less power had the most stress and he had humans on there he interviewed and the ones that had less power and control in their lives had more stress, makes sense. The sickest people are those on the bottom of the totem pole.

He said that when it came out that ulcers were caused by a bateria, and not stress, he said that since 3/4 of the population has the bacteria in their system but that in the people that had stress, which caused a decreased immune system, the bacteria were more able to eat into the stomach lining. So according to him, ulcers were caused by stress not the bacteria.

Just thought I'd pass this on as we were discussing this earlier in a thread.

He also said most doctors were happy to hear ulcers were caused by a bacteria so they could just give their patients antibiotics instead of telling them to take it easy and change their lifestyle.

It convinced me that ulcers are caused by stress, then aggravated by the bateria already present in most of us, so sounds like Dr. Sarno is probably right about his theory.
