Posted - 12/18/2004 : 01:02:24 Don't want to start the worlds longest thread again here, just one quick point:
As we now know, Healthboards.com "back problems" section will delete any pro-Sarno thread (unless the thread gets a bunch of hate-Sarno posts, in which case it will stay up a little longer). Besides, all the arguing gets tedious.
I was reminded of a post I saw a while back, stuck in the middle of a thread. It was short. The first sentence or two was kind of generic ("It sounds like your having a tough time", etc.). Then it suggested, in a very laid back way, "You may want to try a book on back pain called Healing Back Pain." [I would add to that, "Some claim it has cured them. Peace."]
Advantages: 1. By not starting a thread, it's not as conspicious. If and when the censors find it, they'll have to chop someone elses thread to delete it, which they may not want to do. 2. By leaving out "Dr." you do not break the "no mentioning of a specific doctor rule", and by leaving out Sarno's name altogether it really draws less attention. It will be less likely to be deleted. 3. By not being too confrontational or passionate, it prevents big "debates" which are tiresome and wind up getting the post deleted.
I am not trying to convert the whole world, nor should anyone else. The main focus, especially for the newer people, should be getting and staying pain free, mainly by learning more about your emotions, conscious and unconcsious, and how they fuel your TMS. But if you want to spread the word on occasion, I am beginning to think "a little drop will do ya" (what old commerical is that from anyway? Oh yea, Grecian formula, right?))

My original thread was a short, measured recommendation of Sarno titled "very helpful." Not only was the thread deleted, I was banned from the site. Personally, I think it is an evil conspiracy. I believe someone is telling the moderator (volunteer or not) to ban Sarno. I say that because it has been happening for the two years since I first visitied the site, and, moreover, because the deletions are done with such consisitency. Sarno = 5 Alarm Fire = Deletion. If someone is telling the moderator, and they agree and obey, that makes it a conspiracy, and since it is evil (denying people a true cure), that makes it an evil conspiracy. Now let me go watch the X-Files!
But I don't think it could hurt to ask the moderator, in fact we might as well try it. Er, you should, that is. I mean, I would, but, a meteor... well, you know. Thanks, let me know how it goes!

Posted - 12/18/2004 : 19:35:19 Hi Joe. Remember that, just as our forum is administrated by an actual person who is familiar with the subject (Dave..thank you..YOU RULE) the Healthboards forums are administered by volunteer/selected participants. Healthboards is a moneymaking enterprise, not some an act of concern by anybody(all those banner ads) or a break-even deal at the very least. They could not afford to pay someone to administrate them..there are too many forums. There is one or two people censoring Sarno, not some evil conspiracy bent on our discredit.Rather than undermine their obvious bias, why don't you e-mail the forum administrator and ask why all Sarno posts go up in flames? I'd love to read the reply....I'm sure you'd get one...anyone who hates the mention of the name would surely love to personally flame you.
I've been kicked off before for mentioning web addresses, and had strings locked as well.I e-mailed the administator and did receive an explanation of why I had been pitched. I never bothered to read that user agreement.....it seems when this lady got all in a huff about me telling her that she didn't have to be in pain the rest of her life,I had broken the rule about inflammatory remarks. Let me know if you do it or not.If you don't,maybe I will...I'll just make up ANOTHER user ID..
P.S. ....I've read the Bible a hundred times and JOHN was the evangelist...Joe was Jesus' father!!
...and Mark was Peters nephew who knew how to write.
peace

Posted - 12/18/2004 : 17:12:34 OMG, my inherent "anality" is coming to force here, but I think that the "little dab will do 'ya" was Bryl Cream, not Grecian Formula.
I tell ya, the amount of useless information floating around in my brain scares me sometimes!
