Posted - 07/23/2008 : 10:17:18 I have had this irritating digestive issue for some time. It flared up last night, and I now suspect it is TMS. I've described these symptoms to doctors and friends and no one has a clue what else this could be.
I will feel extremely nauseous and sometimes my heart starts racing and I feel light-headed. I will then let out what I can only describe as a cross between a hiccup and a burp and the nausea subsides. The nausea can get very bad, and I've left places before because it has gotten bad. I almost left my Pilates class last night when it flared up, but I decided to push through it and not let it ruin my night. I still feel a tad queasy today.
My doctor, of course, wants me to have an upper G.I. I've had an upper G.I. and two upper endoscopies in the past. The most recent one was 6 years ago. The results were, of course, normal, and I don't want to put myself through more unnecessary tests.
I'm hoping someone else has experienced this symptom and can offer some insight. |

Posted - 07/23/2008 : 12:49:54 It was suggested in the book I just read, Your Body Speaks Your Mind, that we try to think about the two or so years that preceded a specific condition--what was going on in our lives.
If I were having this condition, I'd be thinking, feeling and writing about what's been going on to try to get a "release of emotion".
