Am fighting TMS in three, maybe four places at once in my body and its grinding me down. Please can someone offer support or tell me how you got through your roughest times. I beat tms in my back and feet but it keeps coming back in other places. Has anyone out there had recurrences of the pain but finally beat it for good? If you are out there, please respond. Thank you so much. PS am trying to decide whether to marry live in girlfriend which is causing enormous stress but we're going to Imago counseling tomorrow. Would really like to hear from you.

Yes. we are out here.

The worst part is the fear. It's like an annoying little brother that walks by your side, saying "Look at me, look at me..LOOK! Something BAD is going to happen if you don't....(fill in blank)"

The pain implies deficiency, decay...death. Problem is, it's not decay and death that we're afraid of deep down, it's living...living the way we really have to as opposed to the way we want to or wish to.

You don't fight TMS. We get TMS because we fight. You learn, you read, you think, you reflect, you learn some more and you listen...not to me, or to anybody on an internet forum. That's waaaay too easy. Listen to yourself and you will eventually quit fighting because you will recognize your own BS (aka little brother)

Listen to Sarno. Let the information sink in...and than listen to yourself...that 'self talk' that walks beside you. It's not really you. It's that annoying little brother... and you have to let him go. You think you need him somewhere in your being ....but it's really him that needs you. He can't exist without you, but you can ditch him any old time!

Everybody has recurrences of pain. The farther away he gets the louder he tries to yell....

Since I was immobile during the roughest time of my back/butt pain, I journaled. Spent hours per day writing about stuff I thought needed to come out of me. Cried. Grieved. Screamed. Cursed (a big no-no when I was growing up!) As I released emotions, the pain released. A therapist can be helpful for this too.
The situation you are trying to decide upon is certainly stressful (was in a similar position myself last summer and decided NOT to marry) and could absolutely be triggering pain--emotional and physical. How about exploring your feelings? Is there fear? Fear of ? ? ? How does it FEEL? Is there an underlying reason for the fear? Past experiences of others?
Best wishes for healing.
