Posted - 07/21/2008 : 12:31:37 Hi new today to the forum..i found it when searching the net for TMS. I'm currently reading dr sarno's book. My problem is my lower back. It started as a backache with bladder related probs about 2 months ago. i went to the dr's and he said no infection but probably nerve in back affecting bladder. So i went to a chiro who diagnosed sacroiliac pain. i had 5-6 sessions and it did seem to help with the bladder issue but not the backache. About 4 weeks ago i also started having pains in the right ovary/groin area (same side as backache)which seems to move about. I have seen 3 dr's now 2 have examined stomach check for appendicitis etc and one did an internal & swabs to check for infection which all came back clear. I had an xray of sacroiliac area at hospital last week and am due to have pelvic ultrasound on thursday but do not know results yet. The reason i am thinking it might be tms is that it has been one of the most stessful years of my life with a family death/house move/minor health probs etc etc.. i am wondering if i am manifesting the pain instead of dealing with some emotional issues. My husband and i were thinking of starting to try for a baby and now these 'problems' have shown up as if to prevent me from trying etc??? what do you think?? |

Posted - 07/26/2008 : 03:42:51 i haven't done much on personality types but i do have some massive emotional issues going on at the moment..this year have moved house..a close family member has died..i'm having work problems . other health problems and me and my husband have been very rocky at times. so i guess it could be tms making my back hurt to try and stop me dealing with issues that do need facing. I am seeing a counsellor for the first time ever on monday so i'll see if that helps. |

Posted - 07/25/2008 : 18:00:58 Search this forum for questionnaire, and fill out Dr Schneider's tms form. score yourself and that should tell you a lot more.
You haven't said anything about your personality type and actual emotions. |

Posted - 07/25/2008 : 09:30:58 pelvic ultrasound yesterday showed no signs of any problems with ovaries/uterus etc... i've found myself getting more stressed worried today about back/stomach pains....i have noticed that when i get stressed the pain does seem amplified... am going to reread sarno's book and try and relax a bit...am seeing my works counsellor on monday to try and sort through some emotional issues i'm going through as i have been having really bad nightmares recently which i have never had before. i'm hoping these pains will start to go then... p.s have noticed that when i'm busy..or laughing and in company not thinking about it i don't notice pain this makes me think its tms even more |

Posted - 07/22/2008 : 11:10:05 It is typical of TMS to have a time schedule (better or worse various times of day) or move around to various locations. Pain moving is specifically mentioned in Dr. Sarno's books.
Important when addressing emotional issues is to go farther than think--you need to FEEL them. |

Posted - 07/22/2008 : 06:36:39 thanks will try and do some writing/thinking about emotional issues... the pain in my stomach does seem to move around a bit and also backpain isn't as bad in the afternoon/evenings...is this in line with tms findings?? |

Posted - 07/21/2008 : 13:15:45 I think it sounds like you need to do some journaling! The fact that you've been checked out and nothing has come up is your answer! There is hope. Keep reading Dr. Sarno's books and start getting the emotions out! It works. Best wishes, Lori |
