Just wondering on this issue. I have been having some pretty weird sensations going on for the last 10 months and I did notice that a health scare was the trigger.

What I have discovered over the last few months is that I have a pretty huge number of unresolved issues going on in my life...these seem to be centered on low self esteem and self worth and also feeling trapped in a job that I feel is limiting me and that has started to define me as a failure.

The funny thing is that I am in a comfort zone and that even though the zone is not giving me what I want from life I still cling to it on the surface as I believe that if I let it go my identity will be lost.

The more I think about things the more convinced I am that these sensations, i.e twitching, jerking, pins and needles, muscle aches, buzzing and vibrating are my minds way of telling me that my core being is unsatisfied and unfulfilled. All the GP's have reassured me I have no organic ailment and have dx'ed me with anxiety but I'm thinking that there is more to this than appears on the surface.

Does this seem to fit in with the TMS thesis?

What, exactly, goes through your head before you twitch, ache etc. There is probably a connection.
Annoying stuff happens to me, suddenly yawning, a severe itch, a sneezing fit - often something has just gone through my mind which has been an issue in the past. Once you know what the trigger is you may be able to avoid it.

Yes, your theory makes sense. And it is not incompatible with anxiety. If you are thinking about making big changes but feel stuck and afraid, that would add up to anxiety.

Sometimes you need to make changes to your life to move beyond the TMS issues, and regardless of TMS or not, it's important to do what you believe is the right thing for yourself.

I know it can be hard. I've been working lately on developing my "good voices" to help me overcome stuckness and take the actions I need to take.
