MRosenthal,

We've come full circle here. I just went through the archive of all your posts since September, when you first began posting here. The one big admission I remember you making was that you lied to Doctor Sarno about living in NY so that you could speak to him. If you can lie to him, I think you can very easily lie to yourself. You keep asking for the "secret" to TMS. There is NO secret. It's about life, show up, pay attention, try your best, be honest with yourself and others and keep doing it over and over again and you'll get somewhere, and sleep well at night.

In almost all your posts, you desparetly ask for advice, many people here have taken the time to sincerely give you advice and then you don't take it. Maybe it's your generation, and an education system that teaches self-esteem rather than fundamentals and how to think. No one can give you a TMS pill or fix your TMS for you--you have to do the work. A big part of the work is reading and understanding Sarno's books. From your posts you display a lack of knowledge of the basics of TMS theory.

You want Sarno to say that all herniated discs are TMS. If you fall off a four story building, you will probably suffer a "real" herniation. I think at least 80% of pain and bodily sensations are TMS or just random nervous system mis-fires--much to-do about nothing.

If you want an example of someone on the board who is doing the work, look to Baseball65. He is very honest and descriptive about what bugs him and he is fully physically active. You once mentioned marital, family and work pressures. You have not elaborated on any of these. It's part of the honesty thing.

You are looking for a silver-bullet, quick-fix cure--black and white. TMS is about belief in the GRAY areas--open mindedness--that the majority of the people can be WRONG.

I have never seen an alien from another planet, but with all those stars out there I am not egotistical enough to believe that we are alone in the universe. Do you dream at night? Do you have nightmares? Can you control where they go? To me that's an example of how TMS operates.

So, before I close this lecture, let me give you the secret to the TMS cure--THERE IS NO SECRET!

I for one will not reply to any more of your furtive, desparation posts until I see some evidence on your part that you have done the minimal work of understanding Sarno's TMS theory. Read his books, as many times as it takes to finaly sink in.

Good luck.

My goodness ... I'm beginning to think that you just do not have what it takes to truly accept TMS.

If you accept the theory then you know that "herniated disk" is likely a benign condition. There is nothing to "recover" from. The herniated disk is not responsible for pain.
