On most forums that I participate on, there is a function that enables any participant to "subscribe to a thread" that they are either reading and/or participating on. When you subscribe, then anytime there is a reply in that thread, you get an email letting you know this. Part of the reason I am bringing this up is because I find many threads in this forum really helpful to read and over time, I know I will want to make a reply. But right now, it seems that the only way for any of us here to stay in touch with threads that are important to us is to write down the Topic Title using pen and paper which is something I rarely do. Are any of you aware of this as a pretty normal function on forums and... whether you are or not... does it seem to you as if it would be helpful enough to merit asking the webmaster to consider adding it? Also...often forums like these are templates that are filled with useful functions and the person responsible for managing it simply hasn't turned on every option that is available in it. That COULD be true here as well.

You might want to make this suggestion on the Site Help and Suggestions forum (click "All Forums" at top of page to find it).

You may find that the site moderator has limited time, however.

Have you tried saving the threads you want to come back to as Favourites / Bookmarks, depending on what browser you're using?

This is exactly why I posted what I originally did.
After wasting a good hour, I came to teh conclusion that whoever set up this forum used an absolutely antiquated bare bones template for a forum. There are many, many good templates available.

You are not doing anything wrong.
Perhaps...just perhaps...most people participating here are not necessarily "computer/internet oriented" folk (no criticism intended there) and therefore they may not even know, simply due to lack of experience, that there are much more useful ways to do a forum.

I also have had alot of trouble using this website. I click on, "most recent posts", nothing happens. I click on, "oldest posts" and nothing happens. I click on, "suggestions for this website", nothing happens. The newest emails that are posted end up being responses to emails that might have been written weeks ago, and you have no idea what in the world they are referring to. Am I doing something wrong? This is not how other sites such as this have been set up. When I log on the first post that always comes up is a post from a really really long time ago. The success forum has only two posts showing? The "questions about forum", doesn't work either. Can anyone tell me what i am doing wrong???
