Hi everyone,
Just curious if anyone has experienced Thumb pain and attributed it to TMS. The pain I'm discribing is at the base of the thumb.
I have had it check out by one doctor who's opion is arthritis.
This diagnosis leaves me feeling dubious since I have had much success over the years with TMS related back and knee pain, however this thumb is just hanging in there. Is is interesting that I am a piano player, sometimes playing seems to increase the pain and sometimes not !I did get it xrayed and according to how the docter
interpeted that he came up with arthritis and prescribed MSN,and glucosimine. ?????

Haha, yes I meant that I did want to hit him.

Wouldn't want donnroc to feel he has to get violent to achieve a cure!

Scotty -- sorry you had to go through that, but your post gave me a good laugh this morning. I assume you mean you did want to hit him, not that you did? :)

It's not 100% belief that's required, but 100% commitment.

I had thumb pain, it felt like the joint needed to crack. I knew it could be arthritis (as I'm getting older and garden alot) but suspect much stuff attributed to arthritis is TMS. Then read somewhere that it was because I wanted to punch my hubby, which I did, and it disappeared.

We had people staying with us and he was being a bit short and grumpy which I felt I had to cover up for - causing me more stress! Hence the pain.

I had severe pain in the joint at the base of my thumb off and on for several years. Originally I blamed it on shoveling snow and chopping ice off the driveway, but after a few weeks it returned to normal for quite a while and then the pain started to come and go for no apparent reason over the years, mostly during the time I was caring for my elderly mother. Doctor never had it x-rayed, just referred to it as "tendinitis" and gave me a splint for it.

It was one of the symptoms that went away shortly after I read The Divided Mind and found this forum. A couple of times it has tried to flare back up again, but I can think it away by looking at my psychological issues.
