Posted - 03/24/2008 : 15:47:51 Hi all,
Having had my life changed from back pain a few years back I have another story to share. I twisted my ankle 4 weeks back, and got horrible throat pain at the same time. Had some bad back pain, but I knew that would go away, it did, the ankle pain slightly lingered.
My mother urged me to see a doctor about my throat, I was dumb and mentioned my ankle hurt. "Oh my gosh!!!" he says You need Physical therapy, you need these pills, its a sprain. Guess what happened folks, it got exponentially worse, I stopped using it and it stopped healing. So I took a step back yesterday, I remembered it hardly hurt when I went to the doctor, I had actually ran on it a few days before that, and I have dr sarno in my mind always. Guess what happened today??
Pain went from an 8 to a 3 in one day. This society benifts from our misery, so many professions out there that do. I am going to do this as my action plan, start walking on it today, stop worrying about it, and I plan to run this weekend, I am confident this is TMS!!! I hope I can help you guys, I internalize everything, and I am sick of it.
Cheers,
Ethan

Posted - 03/25/2008 : 15:36:31 You just have to understand yourself, it makes too much sense, people are too afraid to test their doctors and the establishment, I think that all it takes is one experience of going to a doctor, trying to be well informed, or at least in the same frame of understanding, and you begin to realize this is a business folks, the one thing I went to the doctor for, a throat culture, he steered me away from, but he was so quick to grab to pen to give me anti inflammatories, which were so dangerous they endangered my kidneys, oh and of course I got the PT curse, PT is like freud, once you start it you begin to realize, you could technically do it for the rest of your life, there are always going to be streches we havent mastered, and how many of us actually do all those stretches??? and if you do them, and get better its because your mind makes you think standing on your head will cure your bum ankle!!
Sarno for president!!
anyone out there, I would highly suggest the book by Fred Amir, steps to rapid recovery, the tourture that was endured is amazing to read about and learn from!! |

Posted - 03/25/2008 : 14:40:19 Ah, Golden Gate Park. The only thing I noticed is they need more rest rooms there! LOL Lovely place. I like walking across the Golden Gate bridge (when I'm there). Happy to hear you're doing well. It's difficult to listen to the conditioned and/or fearful ones--I work with one who is in p/t right now for shoulder pain. Guess when she got it--when she started this new job! TMS!? oh I'd say so. . . but my leading remarks were not received well, so I just accept that everyone is entitled to their own method of healing. I'm just happy the method I chose addresses the ISSUE--not just the symptoms. Best wishes, Lori |
