Just wanted to drop a note for those of you
who might be struggling with the part about
getting back into normal physical activity...

I've been in a bit of a TMS flare up for the last
3 or 4 days (after at least 8 months of being
symptom free) and I'm continuing to remind myself
that I need to keep doing things as normal and
not let it keep me from exercising.

I just got back from walking around my block
3 times (maybe about a mile and a half) and
any time I felt my back pain, I would think to
myself or mumble under my breath:

- It's just my repressed anger.
- It's my TMS
- It's psychological, not physical
- I'm not in danger of hurting myself

And I'd just keep on with the walk. I almost
talked myself going out for the walk in the
first place (because of my back) but I'm
glad I didn't let that stop me.

I know it can be scary and it might even
hurt sometimes, but YOU CAN DO IT! Just
keep reminding yourself that it's your
TMS and repressed anger and let yourself
walk, walk, walk.

It doesn't matter how much you walk, but
do something that allows you to feel
"normal" again each and every day.

Anyone else have a story to share
about doing normal physical activity
today and not letting the pain scare you?
