Posted - 03/11/2008 : 07:34:33 Ok so I'm irritated. I have no back pain anymore from my "herniated disc" but for the past 2 weeks my teeth have been ultra sensitive to hot/cold. Specifically on the side where I had a crown put on 3 months ago. So the onset of my tooth ache happened when I started thinking more about being married, moving again, all those "life changes" which I am excited about taking place, but still I get stressed when I think of them. So, i've been taking Advil once a day. Just swallowed 2 about 20 minutes ago, and what I just noticed is the tooth ache is now on the complete opposite side of my mouth! What the heck. I know I have alot of tooth decay and the dentist has told me most of my teeth are headed for crowns, but is this pain a TMS equiv. or what? And how do you know when it comes to teeth if is legit of a TMS equiv? Any suggestions? Thanks guys! Maybe I need to go back to the mindless journaling again... |

Posted - 10/01/2009 : 10:51:00 Congratulations on your new daughter! I need to respond that, if your tooth pain continues, or gets worse, you should probably see a dentist. Just after my second baby was born, I started having tooth pain and there really were problems with the tooth (and eventually a root canal, but that's extreme...).
I was told that pregnancy can deplete the body of calcium, though I've also read that it's a myth that the mother is robbed of calcium for the baby's development.
I really didn't want to have to have dental work just after my baby's birth, but in my case, the pain became obviously due to a bad tooth.

Posted - 09/30/2009 : 17:22:44 I just have to say, I started having tooth pain over a week ago again...about the time my baby was due. I am home from the hospital and the tooth sensitivity in worse than ever. I love, love, love my new little girl, I don't know what I should do. I don't want negative stuff to come out over this life change. I am so happy, so blessed. I just don't get it. Pain, Pain go away! It is so distracting right now to deal with tooth pain! How to deal with this on top of the other adjustments bringing a new baby home, first time mom, nursing, etc. grrr. |

Posted - 03/11/2008 : 11:48:26 Well I would suggest MindFUL journaling. There are people on here who have had mouth/teeth pain and attributed to TMS equiv. It's pretty cool that you can find a connection with life events and the onset of pain. I LOVE when I can do that. I know I have painful cleanings when I feel pressured to be somewhere and the driller is taking her time or making me wait. If I go on a day off and just plan to relax the rest of the day, the cleaning is pain-free! I found that very interesting last time it happened! I have also thought I had a cavity because of pain now and then, but made sure I checked in with myself as to what could be bothering/ stressing me, and the pain didn't last. That's happened a bunch of times. So I attribute my tooth pain to TMS equiv. Even though my driller (dentist) likes to try to scare me with this or that. Nothing has gotten worse in the past ~20 years so I'm not scared. And A LOT of my teeth are filled! I just opened my mouth in the mirror and had to laugh at all the metal! LOL You seem to have a lot on your plate and I would be writing about each thing you mentioned and your feelings about each. Even happy events are stressful. Best wishes, -Lori |
