I am confused and worried again and again. One of many treatments/researches I’ve done about my physical state is Hair Analysis. Hair analysis is a test in which a sample of a person's hair is sent to a laboratory for measurement of its mineral content. Holistic doctors claiming that hair analyses can help them diagnose a wide variety of diseases and can be used as the basis for prescribing supplements. My results are back, and I have a problem with 3 important minerals. To double check that, I went to do blood test to these minerals. Yesterday, I called my doctor office to find out about results, and she told me to come to see her next week, that means something wrong. Now I believe that hair analysis was absolutely right. So may be is nothing to do with TMS, or may be TMS is a little or a big part of it? I start to believe again, that something is wrong with my health…

Posted - 02/27/2008 : 11:15:27 Based on your earlier posts, I think that these findings are likely to be completely unrelated to your symptoms. If you do enough tests, you are going to find something abnormal--it'll be up to you to decide if your problem is TMS or not. Personally, I have no familiarity with hair analysis (except for drug testing...), and it is not a standard medical technique. I guarantee that any naturopath is going to tell you your problem is related to some sort of lack of enzymes or minerals or something; go to a chiropractor and they will tell you it is spinal misalignment, an oral surgeon will tell you TMJ, and on and on and on...
Of course, taking some mineral supplements is not going to hurt you... Naturally, you should consult with your doctor before making any medical decisions. |

Posted - 02/27/2008 : 10:31:25 ALways check the physical before going forward with TMS. TMS is not the only "reason" for things happening with the body. The goal is not to make TMS fit by ignoring the physical, but realizing that TMS is the best explanation after all physical reasons are exhausted,is the process.
Vitamin and mineral levels are important to health. Some people have a natural tendency through heredity and lifestyle to lack these things. Pernicious Anemia for example, losses in iron and b12 can eventually kill you, my grandmother died from it. Now would someone say that vitamin levels are not responsible for seizures, chronic fatigue, spasms, muscle stiffness, etc. My grandmother wouldn't have thought so.
I say that not to make you worried, just to remind of the reality of vitamin deficiency. If you find that getting your levels "straight" improves your health, consider it a good thing. If you find that it doesn't help your symptoms, then TMS looks that much more probable as a reason. And TMS principles are good to know anyways just for every day living and awareness of how emotions effect health.
Always rule out the physical is my point. This is not really a suggestion by Sarno IMO, it's a necessity. Then once it is ruled out, you must refute it.
