Posted - 02/22/2008 : 11:01:03 We won't be doing a talk this year, but, thanks to Harriet's persistence, we've got a stall.
A few of us who have recovered from RSI using Dr Sarno's book will be there during the day to talk to people about our recovery.
If anyone wants to come and see us you'll be very welcome. If anyone wants to help out, send me an email.
Details here: http://www.rsiaction.org.uk/

Yeah that's great, the more people I can convince the better! It's nearly a year since I found Dr. Sarno's book on Amazon. Kinda wish I'd found it earlier, worrying about it really hindered my career.
I was going to write a little PC application to help convince people about TMS, but I don't think the backlash from the non-believers would be worth the hassle. It's a shame really. |

Posted - 03/23/2008 : 09:46:27 Hi Scotty,
I also checked his credentials and it seems like he is a bona fide doctor of medicine..
Looks like he also has an office in Farnham, Surrey. It's nice to know there's somewhere down south that people can go to for TMS diagnosis and treatment.

Posted - 03/23/2008 : 02:12:08 Amazing. I wonder how long he's been practising without anyone hearing about it.
Dr Mark Atkinson MBBS, BSc (HONS), FRIPH, HPC. - these are the letters after his name (being a suspicious type I wanted to check he was a medical doctor), the MBBS is a degree in surgical medicine but a fast track 4 year course available to mature students who already have a degree. FRIPH I'm not sure. HPC usually means the Health Professionals Council so perhaps he was a physio or something first.
He seems to cover other treatments than just TMS but it's all grist to the mill. I'm glad there are practioners appearing in the UK. |

Posted - 03/06/2008 : 14:35:20 DrGUID, don't be discouraged. I take the view that if just one person gets better from me talking about it then it's worthwhile.
In the two and a half years since I recovered I'm very happy to see more people have become aware and recovered and the topic is being talked about more, now, too. On Saturday we were 5 RSI-recoverers on the stand and I think people were impressed by that!
And we even have a TMS clinic here in the UK, now, too!
Slowly by slowly...

Posted - 03/05/2008 : 03:37:43 I'm still pretty much RSI free as well since reading Dr. Sarno's books last year, my success story is here somewhere.
The world is still full of non-believers though, I bet you met loads yesterday. I got seriously flamed on another board for daring to state that someone's long term illness could be all in her mind.
I do find it shocking that such a successful remedy for RSI is very difficult to come across, but trying to get the message across is an uphill struggle. |

Posted - 03/02/2008 : 09:47:01 Thanks to everyone who came and chatted to us. If you're new to this forum - welcome!
To the chap who asked me about fibromyalgia, here are 3 success stories:
http://www.tmshelp.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2821&SearchTerms=Fibromyalgia
http://www.tmshelp.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2459&SearchTerms=Fibromyalgia
http://www.tmshelp.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1761&SearchTerms=Fibromyalgia
The Success Story forum was only started fairly recently, so there are probably a lot more older success stories on this forum.
