I see dr. Schubiner today. And look forward to a TMS diagnosis, and alot of hard work ahead
I am so ready to get my life back!! I don't really know what to expect with this appt. But I have to keep my expectations in check. I would love to walk out of there with no pain or numbness. But I suspect it's going to take more than a mtg. with him to sort this stuff out.
Part of my inner conflict revolves around fear of medical test results, this from YEARS of feeding this fear do to illnes in family, friends and even myself. So todays appt. brings with it that same anxiety. The "what if's", and question of will he make me go through more testing etc... So along with excitement, the inner child is scared.
Any words of wisdom, or questions I should ask? And I'll post again after my appt.

hope all are doing well. Sure am glad I found you.

Glad you found the post on the other site useful.

Will have a look round on here as I am off the opinion that many of Health Anxiety traits are as a result of conversion disorder and somatization.

Look forward to hearing about how you got on.

What a blessing for you to be able to see a TMS doctor! That's great! I look forward to hearing (reading) about what happens.

Ah the anticipation. I went to Dr. Sarno believing that he was going to diagnose TMS after all I had read. And what I heard was music to my ears: "you, young lady, have TMS." I cried tears of joy. Pain was lessened a few days later; gone a few weeks later. And I fervently "did my homework".

Hopefully the doc will do the asking the questions--asking you about stressors, what's going on in your life, what was going on when you got pain, etc. and help put it all together for you.

Best wishes on your road to healing,

-Lori
