Posted - 01/26/2008 : 16:43:27 This past Friday night, the topic on 20/20 was "Anger" Did anyone else see it? They talked about how to deal with anger, and stated that "venting anger" is not a good way to deal with it, nor is repressing it.

Posted - 01/27/2008 : 07:46:04 I saw the first part of this. It was interesting. I've noticed that when I "vent" it seems to just add fuel to the fire, making it hotter and stronger. I liked the option of just coming up with a way to make it better. How very practical! |

Posted - 01/26/2008 : 17:17:53 I just caught the tail end where Elizabeth Vargas interviewed Lewis Black- seems venting anger is very healthy if you can make a living off of it!
Did John Stossel participate - or mention his experience with Sarno and back pain? Interestingly, I was reading a magazine and saw that Stossel also struggles with stuttering. Apparently he has had the stuttering problem since childhood. Seems that behind that smarmy know it all facade is a man of many problems.
From what I read on the link, it seems they conclude that venting anger is not particularly healthy. This is not big news nor do I think it is contradictory to Sarno's thinking. There is a big difference between acknowledging and dealing with anger and merely venting it. |
