I am very torn whether or not to see Dr. Sarno next week. I made my appt. about 4 weeks ago when I wasn't quite convinced what I had was TMS. Since after just about completing his book again & being on this site I have no doubt anymore. I met with him personally 10 years ago. What can I gain from seeing him in person again now that I am back on the TMS track? I don't need him to tell me I have TMS as I am totally aware of that now. Time is running out and I need to make a decision. I would be paying $300 to see him again which can pay for alot of therapy sessions at this point. It is not about the money. I paid $700 the first time and it was more than worth it!My therapist I recently started with agrees with Sarno's theories and is really getting to the nitty gritty of things which is my "hysterical" reaction and over reaction to things. I feel fortunate that I am able to see him as soooo many others would die to. That is what I am tossing around in my head right now. I can't seem to make a decision...Help!

Hi Holly
Hell,I haven't had a symptom in a long time and I'd pay 300 bucks just to hang out with him!

BTW about the toe redness...my left calf had completely atrophied to a stick by the time I began to heal.If a physiologic change of that proportion can be of Psychsomatic origin,I don't see why a discoloration wouldn't be either.I just squeezed my finger to cut off the blood flow and it turned red immediately.Seems to be right in line with Oxygen Deprivation.

My Question for Sarno would be:

Is it a little frustrating having developed a therapeutic technique so effective that many patients cancel their appointments by simply reading your book?

I've probably spent...uhmm...200 bucks? on his books and tapes(giving out copies to friends)...I imagine he makes a buck at most for every 12 dollar book(just a guess...I'm a musician and we get pennies on the dollar).......He's made less from me than one visits bill.

Maybe we should pass the hat for the Good Dr.!

Let us know what happens!

menvert, I am in the same boat. I saw the areas bothering me on my toes were red. I would say how can it be red and be TMS? I just know it is . I am going to my appt. just to go. Just seeing the good man and talking to him should hopefully jump start my brain. I think I read in his book that inflammation (re:knee) is infact TMS.

not really an issue any more but i would ask him if observable imflamation should be considered a sympton tms creates :) it was holding me back but i still have it & know its tms :)

Hi Holly,

I agree with Tom. If money is no object, then you have an opportunity to get additional confirmation and personal support from the man himself. Also, if money _is_ an object, think of it as TMS Maintenance....$300 divide by 10 years is $30 per year (or $2 and change per month). In my opinion a bargain.

No, I do not have any questions for the good doctor. Please tell him "Thank you so much!" from all of us that he has helped through his good work.

Take care, -Stryder

If it's not about the money, and money is no object, I would see him in a NY minute. $300 to for a one-on-one with one of the most intellegent healers of our age, if not the most intellegent, is a very precious opportunity which should not be wasted.

I would pay you to ask him quetions that are on my mind pertaining to specifics of the hip region, my hot spot. Maybe bring a laptop and show him the board and see what he thinks about it. Ask him about any new insights since his last book and if he is writing another one. Is he training new doctors in his methodology? Is he hopeful that his theory will be accepted or will it always be for the "intellegent few", does the rest of the planet need it's pain to distract it from it's woes?

I think this could be an interesting thread here:

"WHAT SHOULD HOLLY ASK DOCTOR SARNO?". or
"IF YOU HAD ONE QUESTION FOR THE GOOD DOCTOR, WHAT WOULD YOU ASK?"
