I had a really great interview yesterday and last night the recruiter from the agency called to say that they intend to extend me an offer today. So I am happy about that. But I am concerned that when they do the background check they will see my workers' comp claim for tendinitis and take back their offer. Since reading on the internet I've come to realize that workers comp claims are public record and they will almost definitely see it.

I didn't tell them about the RSI (or TMS) in the interview. When they asked me why I left my previous job I said that I was getting too much overtime, which was true and a big part of the reason why I was stressed. I haven't seen a doctor thru wc since Jan and I paid out of pocket for everything after that so as to not show up on insurance. I did quit of my own accord and was not taken off of work for medical reasons either. I guess I am just trying to convince myself that everything will be alright...

Any input anyone might have would be helpful because I am really freaking out and a background check takes a few days I think. Thanks.

I think you are worried for no reason. I seriously doubt they will do such a thorough background check. If they do happen to find it they may ask you about it, so you can just be truthful and tell them it was an injury and you are now fully healed.

In any case, it is out of your hands now, so just try to forget about it and go do something you enjoy.

koukla I wish I had something useful to say. When it comes to money we always put the stakes high and it's natural to worry.

What could be helpful is to allow yourself to dive down into your anxiety, keep going down and you will find the places that the anxiety isn't. Sometimes that works. I hope your worry goes POOF and leaves you alone.

Linda
