Posted - 12/28/2007 : 04:50:56 Oh gawd. I went to meet a couple of friends at a (lousy) spa for xmas, and came down with horrendous "flu."
Dragged my ass home early on the plane. I feel so horrible. Everything hurts. I'm nauseous, can't eat. Coughing.
I know it's both real and unreal. I can think of long lists of feelings I may be distracting myself from. But I do attend to my feelings, don't baby my symptoms, think psychological and hell - I even recycle sometimes!
What does is take, God, for a little human comfort strung together.
I am meaning this to be a helpful rant - perhaps someone will enlighten us all.

Posted - 12/29/2007 : 18:37:38 I agree with la-kevin -- you get a pass at lying down and watching TV.
I got a true and true cold germ kind of sick over this break and was sick from Sat-Wednesday and I knew that was why I was tired, achy and congested, so it took the worry away from pondering TMS symptoms. Then I started feeling better on Thurs and this was a real nice outcome for pain and discomfort.
I guess you could ponder calmly and gently why you might have been suceptible at this particular juncture, but it's not gonna change the outcome of something that is truly going to run it's course and then be DONE. Woo.

Posted - 12/28/2007 : 05:10:16 The flu virus is very "real". I know what you're trying to say, but just be angry you got the flu. Flus hurt, body aches, feels like hell. Hell, enjoy the fact that there is a real cause for pain and discomfort for once. I get the flu once every 5 years, and it hurts like hell every time. Moan and groan through it, sleep like a log, complain like a baby, snap at people, walk around in pajamas all day, and wipe your nose on the pillow cases. Thats what I do.
What I'm saying is, take a break from it being something more than it is, and just maybe accept the fact that you got a bug, around a time when these bugs are rampant, and that it will all be gone in a few days.
