There was another link on here dealing with menopause, etc. which was very interesting. I'm posting for anyone out there who started having strange aches/moving pains when the hormones started going wacky. I've read all the Sarno books and I'm reading Dr. Brady right now and I am journaling and self talking, but when I get these weird spasms that come and go all the talking and journaling doesn't seem to help. I did get rid of a hystericus globulus throat thing I got a few weeks ago by the Sarno method and it worked. The last time I got the lump in the throat was in the summer and it lasted a few days and that was b/f I read Sarno. So I believe in the program wholeheartedly but it is not working as well with these other pains that come and go during wacky hormone times. Anyone experience this? |

I find this all very interesting.
I know a LOT of women who have issues that present as hormonal but the tests are "normal". I am one of those. The few tests I can get done show normal although I am miserable every month.
I'm going to give it all some thought and see if I can see any relationship. |

I'm struggling with similar issues - hormone, tms, what is what? I just had my first visit with a TMS doctor. I brought up the hormone issue and his take was that menopause, hormones can be a trigger for TMS symptoms, but the pain is still TMS. He was very open-minded and admitted there are many things that may not be black and white with this. When you talk about wacky hormone time- perimenopause is always wacky hormone time. I find that the pain I have been having is so severe, I can't fathom its normal "hormonal" swings. Maybe those of us with TMS personalities are more sensitive to the hormonal shifts and it knocks us for a loop more than the non-TMS person. I know there will be some that think its rage about aging, but my own experience tells me otherwise.
I recall reading women in Asian countries don't get hot flashes during menopause but they get sore shoulders! Go figure.
It stinks having one more factor to confuse us along with the herniated discs etc. |
