Does anyone know of any quality research using the TMS approach for fibromyalgia?

My colleague and I are currently conducting a randomized-controlled study on a TMS-like approach for fibromyalgia patients in SE Michigan.

http://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct/show/NCT00437411?order=19

We are currently recruiting subjects, and would appreciate any referrals.

I'm not a scientist, but just my two cents which is that if Dr Z. is finding a design flaw so quickly,I wonder if there are others...

Since many of us have such a vested interest in the results, is there some sort of independent review board of experts that will take a look at a design before you run the study....Just to be sure...

Too bad I'm so far away--I'd love to refer some of my patients to you! One criticism: wouldn't it be better if the placebo arm also met in small group sessions, but not dealing with emotional issues? If the treatment arm improves, one could argue that it was because of improving their support system, etc., rather than specifically from dealing with repressed emotions.

I think this is great and hope for the best.

Dr. Hsu,
Are the MindBody theories being taught at University of Michigan, or did you learn about it like most of us (reading one of Dr. Sarno's books)? Good luck in you study!

Hope this project goes well!
