Posted - 08/06/2007 : 17:07:42 Hi, I just wanted to let you know, in case you read my posts, that I am not your typical TMS sufferer...I am a case that needs to also see a psychotherapist because of deeper issues that make me resistent (subconsciously) to fully accepting the TMS diagnosis..I tend to focus on symptoms, for fear of really feeling the emotions firing the physical pain..
I have been greatly helped by the wonderful people on this forum and you will be too! Most get results much faster and are able to incorporate the principles and apply them for relief of pain and suffering..
Do not view me as a typical example..Doing the work does work and has for me to some degree..When I can afford to continue w/ my TMS therapist I will..so I will recover fully as well..
Good luck and take care, Karen |

Posted - 08/07/2007 : 12:03:02 Thanks Beth.. But, I wasn't saying to completely avoid reading my posts..Reading them could be very helpful when they see all the insightful replies and great advice I got.. I was merely saying I am not a typical TMS sufferer, and I have resistence to fully getting it..

I admire you for that.
Let me second, to the newbies, don't read posts by Singer_Artist. This will NOT help you heal, and will only introduce doubt to you.
Of course, this doubt can be overcome, but if you're truly on this board to learn how to work the Sarno principles, I think reading the frustrations of somebody who has had a lot of trouble applying the principles slows the inclination to take the leap of faith necessary to work the program. When, what a mouthful, huh?
