I sought help last week after a 4 years absense from any "major" relapse. The support and comments were right on target. It helped me to learn how to refocus and I also had to begin "reconditioning" some thoughts that I allowed to creep back in. Within a week I was cutting grass, started to run, and feeling preety darn good. I had to drive (over 3 hours one way) then back but with a stop. Some stiffness, no big thing. Woke up okay started the day fine, but this day was one I was dreading due to a family situation that was already scheduled. I was preparing for my anger and anxiety to be at top levels, I didnt't repress any thoughts, but I'm stiff as a rock and back to square one. I can "feel" the fear inside me. I have been reading past posts, I'm doing my best to do the psychological work. I just needed to write and get any feedback. The biggest fear is I haven't felt this severe pain in a long time even though I had similar anger and anxiety issues through the past 4 years. Did I get to cocky last week? Thank you.

Have no fear.

Now that your brain "has the power" you will get over this minor setback in short order. Sounds like you are a pot of boiling water about to overflow. Maybe when you are alone in your house try beating up on a pillow, wringing towels and yell and curse like a sailor,,, try to let off some of this steam you call "preparing for my anger and anxiety". Go ahead, vent in a non-harmful way.

TMS uses fear as his best ally. Deny him this, have no fear. Sarno wins again!

Take care, -Stryder

No, you didn't get cocky last week.

I occasionally have a "flare up" of wrist pain. I start to think "Wow, have I just been LUCKY for a couple of years, and now I have to start restricting all over again."

But, I just look to the phsychological. It never seems to help at the time, but I still do the "What's bothering me emotionally?" thing, and the pain sticks around for starters. I keep typing. It eventually goes away.

You're not cocky, just keep up the affirmations of the harmless effects of TMS - yada yada, and you'll win out too.

Beth
