I have started taking ballet classes again (after taking off 4 months for a "neck sprain") and guess what? My neck is starting to hurt again. I am aware of a lot of emotional issues that ballet brings up for me, but right now all I want to do is stretch out my neck and do my physical therapy exercises. What should I do?

Your message says it all.

You are "aware" of the issues, but have you truly confronted them?

I would say it is very likely that the pain is simply a conditioned response to the ballet. Try not to pay any attention to it. Even if you did strain it, so what? It will heal on its own without stretching or exercise. Why not try to feel those emotions that you are aware of. You have nothing to lose.
