Posted - 06/02/2007 : 08:06:21 He is having back sx in a month and I see him out working in the yard and working on cars all day long, bending, , raking, planting, washing cars, crawling under them. I don't understand this, why sx. I asked and he said he needs it. I know he said his back is bad from work and maybe a comp case, but if I was able to do everything he is I don't think I'd be having sx.
Whats the deal with this. |

Of course, if the pain starts while one is engaged in a physical activity it’s difficult not to attribute the pain to the activity. (As we shall see later, that is often deceiving.) But this pervasive concept of the vulnerability of the back, of ease of injury, is nothing less than a medical catastrophe for the American public, which now has an army of semidisabled men and women whose lives are significantly restricted by the fear of doing further damage or bringing on the dreaded pain again. One often hears, “I’m afraid of hurting myself again so I’m going to be very careful of what I do.”" - Healing Back Pain pg 12

Posted - 06/02/2007 : 08:24:51 So he believes surgery will help him. He is like the vast majority of people who have been programmed into thinking his pain is of a physical origin and that cutting him open and "fixing" him will help. This is nothing new.
