Posted - 05/29/2007 : 10:18:32 Hi. Glad to have found this forum. I am a 48 year old female recently diagnosed with TMS. I have to admit that I am relieved to have finally found what I believe will be the answers I have searched for so long now. My troubles all began over 20 years ago and I will not list all the details. Suffice it to say that I found Dr. Bruce Hill in Charlotte, NC completely by accident and he is the first of all the drs and specialists I have seen that discussed TMS with me. I had never heard of it! The mainstream medical community is either completely ignorant of TMS or (more likely in my opinion) threatened by the truth! I haven't even begun my treatment yet and already I feel like shouting from the rooftops! I realize there is a lot to learn and a lot to do... I'm ready! |

I'm not sure whether Kim checks whether the doctor is OK with the listing. You might want to send her another e-mail asking that.

TT,
I will look into getting Dr. Hill added. I believe that my first step should be to contact Dr. Hill and make sure he is OK with that. Some Sarno fans don't want to come out of the closet.
CrystalP,
Thanks for the info on Dr. Hill.

Posted - 05/30/2007 : 08:02:21 Hi weatherman, I think there may be more "low-profile" TMS drs out there than we realize. The issue seems to be that our mainstream, cut and dried physicians either don't want to look at the possibility of TMS and related disorders because to do so would cut into their profit or the majority are just ignorant of the possibility. Since the vast majority of physicians are not going to educate themselves about TMS, let alone their patients (us) the suffering public is mostly unaware and that is really disgraceful.
I am very hopeful that with Dr. Hill's help, I am going to live pain-free again and be able to do all the things I want to do. I am making it my mission to tell as many people as will listen to me about TMS. After all the years/money/suffering I have spent chasing my symptoms and being run ragged to one dr after another, I am all for taking a bite out of somebody! |

Posted - 05/29/2007 : 20:32:41 Congratulations on your good fortune, to have stumbled across a TMS doc by chance is pretty incredible. I only wish I had known about this 28 years ago, would have saved me some grief over the years. (Maybe Sarno himself didn't know about it that long ago).
It does make me wonder how many other "low-profile" TMS docs might be out there.

Posted - 05/29/2007 : 12:37:46 Dr. Hill is at the Crossroads Arthritis and Wellness Center in Charlotte, N.C. He spent over an hour with me on my first appointment and gave me a complete "pressure" exam. He went all over my body pressing on muscles and tendons to identify the ones causing pain. He has also ordered a large lab workup. He holds TMS lectures every other Monday evening at the clinic. He took extra care to explain TMS and to reassure me that the pain, weakness, numbness and discomfort I live with is "real" and that there is a real solution. Monday the 4th is my first lecture and I am really looking forward to it. Dr. Hill also provided me with a copy of Dr. Sarno's book, "The MindBody Prescription". For those unfamiliar with the book, I highly recommend it. |

GOOD FIND CP!
I'm not familiar with the Good Doctor and don't believe he is listed at this site's or TarPit Yoga's site listing TMS practitioners. Can you tell us more about him and the depth of his TMS practice? I beleive there was someone enquiring here recenlty looking for a TMS doctor in NC.
Could anyone who knows how to do those things, please ad Dr. Hill to the lists?
Regards, tt
