Yesterday I went for a 39-mile bike ride, which is the most I've ever ridden in a day, more than doubling my previous 19-mile record. My total weekly mileage for last week was 77, also a record. I've been TMS-free for about a year now, maybe a bit less. In a way I feel I am just beginning to enjoy life like I want to. I definitely returned to all my normal activity by last June/July, but it's taken a while to feel like I am in the groove of a regular life. I am scheduled to start therapy pretty soon too because I started to feel like I need to work through some stuff before I can really move forward. I still get some tension in my back and neck sometimes when I am feeling some stress and take a little time out to journal, but my main symptoms (RSI) have not recurred since a year ago. Overall it's been a great year. A lot of it is thanks to the board which has given me a lot of technical and emotional support, so thank you to everyone for that!

I think the most bike riding I have done at any one time since TMS onset has been 7 miles. Actually I bought the bike to challenge my TMS fears. But I just moved to a new place which has nearby bike trails that go on for miles and miles. Can't wait until it warms up again so I can get back on the saddle.

Ditto Art's comments. Much success with your therapy that you are presently embarking on.

I'm happy for you. Right now for me the thought of going for a year without pain would be wonderful! Hope things stay good for you.
